CHAIRPERSON MESSAGE

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is with great pleasure and honor that we extend a warm invitation to you for the upcoming 11th annual SWAAC ELSO Conference (South West Asia and Africa Chapter of the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization). The conference will take place at Conrad at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi from February 6th to 8th, 2025. This year’s conference would be held in conjuncture with ECMONet meeting, involving the most prominent researchers in the field of ECMO.

The SWAAC ELSO Conference serves as a significant platform for professionals in the field of Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) therapy to gather, exchange knowledge, and collaborate on advancing the frontiers of this critical medical discipline. With the support of the South West Asia and Africa Chapter of ELSO, we have curated a thought-provoking scientific program that encompasses the latest advancements, innovative research, and best practices in ECLS.

During the conference, we will explore the multifaceted aspects of ECLS therapy through engaging sessions, interactive workshops, and insightful keynote presentations. We have gathered an esteemed panel of experts from around the globe who will share their expertise, experiences, and ground breaking discoveries in this rapidly evolving field. Whether you are an Critical Care Physician, Anaesthesiologist, Cardiologist, Heart Failure Specialist, Pulmonologist, Cardio-thoracic and Vascular surgeon, Paediatrician, Perfusionist or Nurse or any other member of the multidisciplinary team, there will be valuable content tailored to your specific interests and professional development.

Our aim is not only to facilitate the promulgation of knowledge but also to foster meaningful collaborations and networking opportunities. The SWAAC ELSO Conference provides a vibrant platform for professionals to connect, share ideas, and forge partnerships that will drive advancements in ECLS therapy.

In addition to the exceptional scientific program, we have organized pre-conference workshops prior to the main event. These workshops will offer hands-on training, allowing participants to enhance their practical skills and gain valuable insights into the intricacies of adult and paediatric ECLS therapy. We encourage you to take full advantage of these workshops and make the most of this unique learning experience.

Abu Dhabi, with its rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes, serves as the perfect backdrop for this conference. We hope you will take the opportunity to explore the city’s attractions, experience its warm hospitality, and establish lasting connections with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Your presence and active engagement are vital to the success of the SWAAC ELSO 2025 Conference. Once again, I look forward to welcome you to Abu Dhabi, and I am confident that this important Conference will be a memorable and enlightening experience for all.
